What’s Rising To The Top


Working with CBS Interactive’s Ad Innovation Team, I designed an interactive data visualization dubbed “Trending Topics”. Driven by traffic data from Google Search to CBS Interactive sites, top searches are displayed as bubbles, sized according to rank. Within each bubble is any number of related articles that a user can browse.

Developed in Flash and conforming to IAB standards, the unit is trackable, skinnable and portable to any page on any of the CBS Interactive sites. To keep content relevant to users, the data can be filtered by site (i.e. or by category (i.e. The Grammys). Advertisers can sponsor this space with their own ad placement and social feed.
